The week that was:
UTSA took care of Rice in Houston. We’ve been waiting for Mike Bloomgren to blossom at Rice for years now. They seemed like they had finally turned a corner this season and beat UAB. The loss to CLT, and uncompetitive performances against the last two league championship game participants show how far away this program is from competing. Rice won the league in 2013, but has been on the fringe since.
Meanwhile UTSA celebrated the regular season championship, and sealed the hosting of the title game. They weren’t challenged vs Rice, and the only goal from now on is to stay healthy. UTSA has a chance to win their second title in a row.
